Roof works taking place across campus this summer
A continuation of our rolling programme of roofing replacements and remedial works will be undertaken across campus this summer. These works will provide improved insulation and energy efficiency to the impacted buildings, while also addressing long-standing issues of leaks, and providing long-term assurance and durability. Each roof project will include the installation of external scaffolding and other safety measures and is expected to be subject to some localised noise disruption in and around the buildings and their surrounding areas.
Bowland South (south) and Slaidburn House (west) roofs ¨C 8 July to late September
The project will include the installation of some scaffolding and other safety measures to the Edward Roberts Court side of both buildings, in addition to a secure bridge and walkway connecting the roofs of the two buildings. The installation of scaffolding and subsequent works may cause some noise disruption in the local areas around the Edward Roberts Court side of Bowland South and Slaidburn House, however, this is expected to be low level and localised to the surrounding area. All Edward Roberts Court outlets will remain accessible while the works take place.
LICA and Bowland Annexe roofs ¨C 22 July to late November 2024
These works will include the installation of scaffolding and other safety measures to sections of the exterior of the LICA building and to the southern fa?ade of Bowland Annexe. The installation of scaffolding and subsequent works may cause some noise disruption in the local areas in and around the LICA building and Bowland Annexe, however, this is expected to be low level and localised to the surrounding area. Both buildings will remain fully accessible while the works are undertaken.
University House roofs (west and east ends) ¨C 22 July to late September 2024
This project will include the installation of scaffolding and other safety measures to the west and east ends of University House. The installation of scaffolding to both sides of the Alexandra Square section of the building and the subsequent works may cause some disturbance and localised noise disruption in the building. University House will remain fully accessible throughout the project. Additional remedial works such as external decoration and other repairs will also be carried out during this time.
